Victoria Beckham has dismissed recent rumors that her marriage to David Beckham is in trouble, insisting that she has nothing to prove and is completely content with her husband of sixteen years, with whom she has four children.
The 41-year-old fashion designer and former Spice Girl spoke to Grazia about recent speculation that has insisted her and David are having marital troubles.
After being presented with them, Victoria responded, “I have never listened to, or commented on, the rumors about any aspect of my life. I am blessed to have a wonderful husband and beautiful, healthy, happy children.”
Just last week, rumors started to swirl that because of the pair’s globe-trotting antics, which is the result of numerous business endeavors that they have across the world, the Beckhams’ marriage was in trouble.
But while Victoria admitted that they are forced to spend quite a bit of time apart due to their conflicting work schedules, she also insisted that this doesn’t mean their marriage has been substantially damaged because of it.
“Yes, we travel a lot with our respective businesses and charitable commitments. But we always make time for each other as a couple and as a family,” Victoria Beckham insisted, before then emphatically adding. “David and I have nothing to prove. We love each other, look out for each other and are strong as both partners and parents.”
David Beckham himself recently spoke to ABC News about the state of his marriage to Victoria Beckham, insisting that they have a “pretty easy going” relationship, which is completely based on trust.
“We’ve been together for 18 years, we’ve been married for 16 years,” the former AC Milan, Paris Saint Germain, Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Preston North End player explained. “So you trust each other’s judgment. I think that has worked for us.”
Victoria Beckham and David Beckham originally began dating when she was still working as a member of the Spice Girls and he was playing for Manchester United, back in 1997. After marrying in 1999, the pair have since gone on to have four children, 16-year-old Brooklyn, 13-year-old Romeo, 10-year-old Cruz, and 4-year-old Harper.
And during the same chat with Grazia , Victoria Beckham spoke glowingly about how David continues to inspire both her and her children, and she even admitted that he is now much more than either her spouse and the father of her children.
“My husband constantly inspires me and guides me,” she declared. “He has done so much good work, I look up to him and have the utmost respect and admiration for all that he has achieved.”
She believes that David and her relentless work ethic is going to set their children up very nicely for the future, while they also make sure to regularly remind them that they come from a very privileged background.
“David and I both have a strong work ethic,” Victoria Beckham continued. “And I believe that’s a good example to set our children. David and I explain to the children what privileged lives they lead. We tell them that in many places in the world children are hungry, homeless and sick.”
And this is already beginning to have a strong impact on each of their children, as Victoria admitted that each of their brood has already started to follow in their footsteps by assisting a number of charities.
“They all understand how important it is to help others,” Victoria continued. “Romeo ran the children’s marathon earlier this year and raised an amazing amount of money through sponsorship, which he divided between David’s charity and UNAIDS.”
