With Apple breaking records with the new iPhone 6s, Android had to somehow get their name back in the news and make themselves relevant again. Today, Google announced their new Marshmallow software Android devices that will be available on Nexus devices starting next week. Nexus 5, 6, 7, 9, and Nexus Player are all the devices that the new Google software will ship with.

On Tuesday , Google help a press event to show some of the new features that will be included in the marshmallow update, including an advanced charge status indicator, less disruptive notifications, and a smarter home screen, according to Time .

Also included in the new Google update is a feature called “Now On Tap” that gives helpful information to the user without having to navigate through different individual apps. Now On Tap was designed to learn the users usage patterns and become smarter the more you use your device.

Marshmallow will already be installed on Google’s new Nexus phones, the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X. The new Google Android will feature new voice control abilities in Marshmallow, which will allow the user a more hands-free control over their devices. The Nexus 5X is bigger then the Nexus 5, at 5.2 inches, and has a fingerprint sensor, USB-Type C, and a better camera sensor. The Nexus 5X is also extremely light, only weighing 136 grams. The Nexus 5X comes with either 16GB or 32GB of space, and has 2GB of memory.

The Nexus 6P has a 5.7 inch screen, which is slightly bigger then the iPhone 6 Plus, with a QHD resolution, and also comes with the Nexus Imprint fingerprint sensor. Nexus upped their selfie camera game by using an 8MP camera in the front and a 12.3 MP for the rear camera. The Nexus 6P features an all-metal body in white, grey, and aluminum, and also comes with front facing stereo speakers, according to India Times.

Google teamed up with LG and Huawei to bring the two new Nexus phones to life. Google is saying that the Nexus 6P and 5X has a fast-charging system, saying it charges twice as fast as the iPhone 6s Plus. Google also says that the new fingerprint sensor will not only allow the user to unlock their phone, but it will work with other apps, including the Play Store and payments in Android Pay, something the iPhone already features.

Google is also introducing a new power saving mode called Doze that will help keep the system in a sleep-like state to help conserve battery life.

The Nexus 5X will be available for pre-order today for $380 in the Google Store, and is available on all major U.S. carriers. Of course, Google also has a protection plan to go with their new fancy phone. Nexus Protect covers the 5X from mechanical and accidental damage for two years and only costs $70. The Nexus 6P will also be available today for pre-order in the Google Store for $499, and the Nexus Protection is also available for this new phone, but will cost $89. Both phones will ship unlocked at the end of October.

Google did not say if a deductible was included with Nexus Protect, but at $89, it is cheaper then AppleCare+, which recently went up to $129 for the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. AppleCare also charges a $99 deductible for accidental damage incidents. Nexus Protect will only launch in the United States before expanding internationally to other Google Nexus phones.
