Bristol Palin Bashes President Obama For Showing Support To Clockmaker Student Ahmed Mohamed

Bristol Palin had some choice words for President Obama after the Commander-in-Chief showed support for wrongly accused Texas student Ahmed Mohamed, who was arrested for a homemade clock he brought to school.

Ahmed, 14, was suspected of making a bomb that was actually a clock. The invention terrified his teacher, the BBC notes , and things spiraled out of control from there.

As police decided not to pursue charges against the boy, a wave of support kicked up from all across the Internet, leading to this tweet from President Obama.

The seemingly harmless tweet was too much for Bristol Palin to handle, and she took to her Patheos blog to let her thoughts be heard .

“In case you missed it,” Bristol wrote, “[the] President invited Ahmed Mohamed to visit the White House to show the President his homemade clock. The fourteen year old was arrested after someone reported that he was building a bomb.”

She continued.

“This is the kind of stuff Obama needs to STAY out of. This encourages more racial strife that is already going on with the ‘Black Lives Matter’ crowd and encourages victimhood… The police made a mistake, clearly… But why put more people against them? Why egg it on? Childish games like this from our president have divided our country… even more today than when he was elected.”

As for that invitation, the Verge reports that Ahmed will be accepting the President’s invite, and that he will follow that up by transferring schools.

In a public appearance after his arrest, Ahmed said he would like to appear on the reality series Shark Tank in the near future.

He also encouraged his peers “to keep working on their inventions,” the site reported.

“Don’t let people change who you are,” he said. “Even if you get consequences for it.”

Most commenters on Mediaite weren’t having any of the Palin daughter’s criticisms.

“You’d think they (Palins) would just want to take their cash and fade away and live a comfortable life out of the public eye… Fat chance,” wrote one.

“Yeah this genius thinks being inclusive and encouraging a smart and eager young man is a bad thing,” said another. “Perhaps she can lecture us about family values and abstinence while she has two kids out of wedlock with two different fathers. The Palins never fail to deliver the stupid.”
