Over the last couple of years, the career of UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has been on fire. With her last three title defenses lasting a total of only three seconds over a minute (her last defense against Bethe Correia lasted the longest, at 34 seconds) and her roles in The Expendables 3 and Furious 7 , it it no wonder why “Rowdy” is the face of UFC. Those details are also a valid reason why Rousey would say she’s the highest paid fighter in the promotion, too. All in all, there is a lot on Rousey’s resume to back up her fearless confidence.
Ronda Rousey was fearlessly confident during her appearance at the promotional event for UFC 193: Rousey vs. Holm in Melbourne, Australia. Rousey even said she’d do more “touristy things” after beating Holly Holm in her upcoming title defense.
As mentioned earlier, Ronda Rousey’s fighting words towards her UFC 193: Rousey vs. Holm opponent were made at a promotional event for the pay-per-view, as reported by CBS . When a Melbourne local asked if Rousey had seen much of their city , the champion replied with the following.
“I wish I had a chance do some more touristy things, after I beat Holly I will have some time.”
Nevertheless, Ronda Rousey’s upcoming fight will be her seventh title defense in her 12-0-0 career. It will also be Rousey’s third time in a row taking on an undefeated fighter as Holly Holm is currently 9-0-0. Take note that is the same record both Cat Zingano and Bethe Correia were at before they lost against “Rowdy.”
As for Holly Holm, she’s taking a more civil approach. Unlike Bethe Correia, who played the most ruthless mind games anyone could play for any fight, Holm simply wants to take it “ one second at a time ,” as reported by ESPN .
“Mentally, a lot of things that I’ve gone through fighting against some of the best in the world in boxing, has given me that confidence that I’m going to be able to deal with coming in as an underdog.”
Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm will face each other in the Octagon at UFC 193: Rousey vs. Holm on Saturday, November 15, 2015. It will be held at the Etihad Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, on pay-per-view.
