Production for the upcoming Suicide Squad movie has officially concluded. Along with several photos of the cast and crew and some final words from Margot Robbie, video footage from an intense car scene between Batman and The Joker rounded out the last days of filming.
In an post to his Twitter account, director David Ayer released a photo that included over 100 cast and crew members. Ayer captioned the image by writing, “It’s a wrap folks!”
The image is particularly interesting because it features a number of different Killer Crocs and Harley Quinns to go along with a slew of other details, which fans have been quick to notice.
In addition to Ayer’s social media posts, Joel Kinnaman took to Instagram to share a pic of a late night bonfire with several cast members, while Karen Fukuhara shared a similar image on her Instagram of the morning after the party.
Meanwhile, with filming now complete, Robbie recently sat down with The Guardian and talked about her experiences playing Harley Quinn.
“It’s pretty intense. It’s always bigger than you think it’s going to be,” she stated. “I definitely didn’t think it through when I took on the job, but once you’re in the midst of it, it’s too late to take it back.”
Robbie added that she was not aware of the large fan support the movie is already generating because of the closed nature of the set.
“The whole comic-book world has such a huge fan base. But fortunately when you’re on set every day, you’re with the same crew, and the same cast every day for so many months, that you’re kind of sheltered from it,” she revealed. “You get a taste of it when you do exterior shoots, like on the streets, and fans line up – you’re kind of reminded of how closely people are watching and anticipating it.”
Meanwhile, although the production for Suicide Squad has officially wrapped, a TV crew in Toronto managed to record a final scene before filming concluded. The footage, released by Batman News , features an intense car scene between Batman and Jared Leto’s The Joker.
The video shows Batman riding on the hood of The Joker’s red sports car while he tries to break through to get at The Joker and Harley Quinn inside.
If the footage is anything to go by, then Suicide Squad is sure to thrill fans when it hits theaters on August 5, 2016.
