WWE Rumors: Brock Lesnar And Chris Jericho’s Opponents Named For WWE Network Special In Madison Square Garden

The WWE Network special in early October at Madison Square Garden is shaping up to be huge, and it’s going to be a fun event. A card has been released for the event, but it could change a lot before that time comes, as Night of Champions still has to take place in three weeks. Still, the opponents for both Brock Lesnar and Chris Jericho have been revealed, and they are good ones.

Lesnar was originally rumored to take on Bo Dallas in what would essentially equal up to another squash match. At Beast in the East in Tokyo, he took on and destroyed Kofi Kingston. This match will give him a larger opponent in Big Show.

“BROCK LESNAR RETURNS TO THE GARDEN FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OVER 10 YEARS ACCOMPANIED BY NEW YORK’S OWN PAUL HEYMAN AS HE FACES THE BIG SHOW!”

For those that may not be familiar with it, Lesnar and Big Show have a rather long history. They’ve face off on quite a number of occasions and even have one extremely memorable moment in which they broke a ring.

WrestleZone is reporting that this will be Brock Lesnar’ fifth match in 2015. It also is going to be the first time he has had a match at Madison Square Garden since WrestleMania 20 .

Chris Jericho will be celebrating his 25 years in the wrestling business, and with that, he’s going to face off against Kevin Owens. This is according to the official website for Madison Square Garden, and it wouldn’t be the first time they have been in a match together.

Jericho has been working a part-time schedule for WWE, and only doing non-televised events for months now. Unless he shows up before October 3, it will be the first time that Jericho has worked a taped show since Beast In The East back in early July.

Other matches advertised so far include:

  • Randy Orton vs. Sheamus
  • Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev
  • US Title Match: John Cena vs. Seth Rollins

That last match is rather intriguing, as it used to be listed as being for the WWE Title. It is now known that Seth Rollins will fight twice at Night of Champions — Once against Sting for the WWE Title and once against John Cena for the US Title.

As always, the card is subject to change, and a number of other stars are being advertised for it, too. Some others are “New York’s own” Dudley Boyz , Team Bella, The New Day, Stardust , and Mark Henry.

Brock Lesnar and Chris Jericho now know who they will each face at the WWE Network special in Madison Square Garden, but it’s still a month away. A lot can change in that amount of time, but if not, Big Show and Kevin Owens will have fights on their hands.
