Donald Trump is easily leading the way in the 2016 presidential polls over in the Republican Party, and his support is only growing. Many believe he already has a lock on it, but there’s a long way to go and anything can happen. Now, one big question is who would be his running mate as Vice President? Oddly enough, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson said that it’s not out of the question for it to be him.
Carson recently did an interview with CNN where he was specifically asked about such a thing, and he knows it’s quite early too. Still, he wouldn’t rule out the possibility of him serving as Trump’s running mate or Trump serving as his.
“I think all things are possible, but it’s much too early to begin such conversations.”
The idea of Carson being Trump’s running mate has been going around the media circles this past week, per Opposing Views . With the two candidates leading the Republican Party, it makes sense for that type of conversation to start already.
Ben Carson spoke on a number of topics with CNN, including the recent remarks about using drone strikes to secure a border with Mexico. Carson was much more adamant and blunt in what he meant in that case.
“In no way did I suggest that drones be used to kill people, and I said that to the media at the time. I said, you guys are – some of you are going to go out and say Carson wants to use drones to kill people on the borders.”
“How ridiculous. At some point, I hope we have some responsible media which actually focuses on the problem. We have a huge security risk there.”
Before the first presidential debate, Carson wasn’t even so much as a blip on the radar for the Republican nomination. His comments, straight forward talk, and quips brought forth a lot of attention to the retired neurosurgeon and has him as a top choice among likely Republican supporters.
The 2016 presidential polls show that Donald Trump has an almost insurmountable lead and it just keeps growing. Now, it’s time to get through the other debates and see if that continues.
Ben Carson as the running mate Vice President for Donald Trump? It may be too early in the 2016 presidential election to think about it, but stranger things have happened and it certainly wouldn’t be out of the question.
