When it comes to K-dramas, The Time We Were Not in Love (also known as The Time That I Loved You, 7,000 Days ) is a very peculiar case. It was expected to be a runaway hit just on the casting of popular Korean actors Ha Ji Won and Lee Jin Wook, as well as casting a majority of the supporting cast that made Pinocchio a success. Unfortunately, it suffered way too many issues to truly get established.
It started with an accusation of plagiarism followed by two production crew changes , one before the series premiered and another after Episode 4 was finished. As a matter of fact, The Time We Were Not in Love was analyzed as the biggest failure for 2015 thus far.
Now with just the series finale left in The Time We Were Not in Love , SBS hopes to finish the K-drama trying to get as much out of it as they can. Fortunately for them, their penultimate episode received a sudden ratings boost. This may be in correlation with the characters Ha Ji Won and Lee Jin Wook play finally getting together.
According to KdramaStars , the 15th episode of The Time We Were Not in Love recorded a 6.2 percent nationwide viewership . It focused on the beginnings of the relationship between Choi Won (Lee Jin Wook) and Oh Ha Na (Ha Ji Won). It opened with Ha Na confessing to Choi before he heads off to Paris. They then explored the dynamics of their newfound love, which resulted in one of the steamiest bedroom scenes allowed on public Korean television.
Business-wise, the fact the viewership went up is good because the Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS) needs to make as much as they can to litigate whatever losses they sustained. Having one of their episodes earn a percentage over 6 percent is great given the fact the last time an episode from The Time We Were Not In Love hit that percentage was back in July 7, 2015 with their 7th episode , as shown on AsianWiki.
Right now, SBS hopes the series finale will be even higher than the penultimate episode, which will air tonight at 10 p.m. For those who are unable to watch The Time We Were Not in Love in its KST time slot, it will be available later on on DramaFever .
