Megyn Kelly’s Vacation Sparks Conspiracy Theory Rumors

Megyn Kelly’s recent leave to begin a 10-day vacation from her Fox News spot has started another flurry of rumors surrounding the newswoman.

After her Wednesday night show aired, Kelly apparently left for a vacation that has the media crying foul — many are now claiming conspiracy theories over her leave in light of her recent war of words with GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump.

Fox News, however, denies that there is any truth to such theories, saying that the vacation had been planned for a time, according to CNN .

Trump, however, is further fueling the conspiracy claims, saying to Newsmax TV on Friday that he has reason to believe that the “vacation” is more than what Fox is telling the public.

“There probably was [a connection],” Trump said, adding, “but I wouldn’t know about it. People were very, very surprised that all of a sudden she decided to go away for 10 or 11 or 12 days.”

Megyn Kelly spoke about her leave on The Kelly File on Wednesday evening. “It’s been six months since I had a vacation. So I’ll be taking the next week-and-a-half off, spending some time with my husband and my kids trying to relax.”

Fox News also backed Kelly, releasing their own statement on Friday evening after the conspiracy theories began to swirl.

“The conspiracy theories about Megyn Kelly’s vacation rank up there with UFO’s, the moon landing and Elvis being alive. Megyn is on a pre-planned, annual summer vacation with her family, which is much deserved. To imply otherwise as Donald Trump and his campaign operatives have is not only wildly irresponsible, but downright bizarre.”

“Perhaps Mr. Trump thinks it’s advantageous to his poll numbers to keep talking about Megyn, but that doesn’t change the fact that Roger Ailes (Fox chairman) has fully supported her and her tough journalistic questioning since day one and is thrilled with the added exposure from the debate, which resulted in even higher ratings of The Kelly File this week,” the spokeswoman for Fox added.

“Anyone who knows Roger is aware of how historically and consistently loyal he is to all of his talent and how he protects them at all costs.”

Megyn Kelly will return to her show and Fox on August 24.
