The summer season has proven to be a success for Girls’ Generation. Despite losing one of their own when Jessica Jung left the K-pop group, the remaining members — Taeyeon, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, and Seohyun — have remade themselves as an eight-member group . Apparently, they will be just fine as proven from the popularity of their summertime teaser track “Party.” But now, Girls’ Generation is moving forward as they work on the second phase of their comeback which is the official release of their latest album titled Lion Heart .

In association to their second phase, Girls’ Generation has recently released the album art of Lion Heart and they are going retro. Not only that, they’ve also made it known they have an “unconventional strategy” for its release.

According to Billboard , Girls’ Generation released the cover of their new album , Lion Heart , on August 11, 2015. As mentioned earlier, the members of the K-pop group went retro with a 1950s, pin-up style. They worse vintage dresses while their hair was made up in the style of that time. This direction was probably taken as a means of standing out, kind of like how their biggest competition, Wonder Girls, is standing out with an ’80s retro look.

The album cover art for “Lion Heart” has Girls’ Generation posed in a 50s pin-up style. They wore vintage dresses and had their hair done to the styles popular at that time.

Girls’ Generation also made know their unconventional strategy when it comes to the release of Lion Heart , as reported by KpopStarz . Apparently, they want to split the album’s release among two days, probably because it has two feature songs. At 12 p.m. KST on August 18, 2015, the first half of the album will be made available. This includes the featured song “Lion Heart,” “Fire Alarm,” “Green Light,” “Paradise,” “Bump It,” and their pre-release summertime track, “Party.” The second half will be made available twelve hours later at midnight, August 19, 2015. This includes the other featured song “You Think,” “One Afternoon,” “Show Girls,” “Talk Talk,” “Check,” and “Sign.” It should be said that “Show Girls” was originally on Girl’s Generation’s 2015 Japanese album, but has been updated to Korean for this one.

After Lion Heart is fully released, Girls’ Generation will do an album promotion tour. They will perform “Lion Heart” and “You Think” on Music Bank on August 21, 2015, Show! Music Core the next day, and Inkigayo the day after that.
