JJ Lane Quits ‘Bachelor In Paradise’: Rumored Relationship ‘Back Home’ Prompts Week 3 Departure

JJ Lane is far from a villain on Bachelor in Paradise and quickly became a favorite of his co-stars on the show. After all, villains can “vill” for only so long.

Fans who are enjoying the new and improved JJ are hoping he will find love on the show, but spoilers indicate that the single dad from Colorado leaves Paradise alone on Episode 3 (August 9) — and he has a very good reason to do so.

Before he leaves, he will enjoy a date with Megan Bell , the Nashville makeup artist who hails from Chris Soules’ season of the Bachelor . Although it looks like they had fun, it turns out that JJ has another girl he’s interested in — and she’s not on the show.

According to Reality Steve , JJ decides to leave Paradise during the Episode 3 rose ceremony. It’s the guys turn to hand out roses next Sunday, so he gives his rose to Ashley Salter and then tells the other contestants why he can’t stay.

“JJ gives his rose to Ashley S., but then gives some speech about how he just recently met someone back home that he was talking to before the show so he wants to explore that. So after giving Ashley S. the rose, he leaves.”

And just like that, the guy with the Nantucket Reds (no, his pants weren’t pink) leaves the show.

Who the woman is that he “recently met” back in Denver remains a mystery. Perhaps things didn’t work out for him when he returned from filming the show last month, or he’s keeping her identity a secret until the Bachelor in Paradise gossip dies down.

For now, it looks like JJ has been enjoying himself with his adorable daughter and some of his pals from the Bachelorette , including his not-so-villainous friend Clint Arlis, and the guy who got his heart broken by Kaitlyn Bristowe — Nick Viall .

Although JJ Lane will no longer be on Bachelor in Paradise after his departure next Sunday night, the drinking, crying, and drama will continue — and perhaps there will be a love story for one of his former Bachelorette friends, Tanner Tolbert .

Watch Bachelor in Paradise at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Sunday and Monday nights on ABC.
