Dancing with the Stars returns for its 21st season this fall and fans are already buzzing about who the celebrity cast will be. ABC’s popular ballroom dance competition will return to ABC on September 14 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, with rumors that Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe and I Am Cait star Caitlyn Jenner will join a star-studded cast and lineup of pro-dancers.
According to Reality TV World , co-hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews will return for season 21, along with the same four judges as last season — Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, Julianne Hough, and Carrie Ann Inaba. A live results show is scheduled for September 22, but the network has yet to announce whether the DWTS results shows will air every Tuesday.
Fans can expect ABC to reveal the Dancing with the Stars season 21 celebrity dancers and their pro-dance partners a few weeks before the September 14 season premiere. The announcement is usually made live on Good Morning America , with teasers released on social media in the weeks leading up to the big reveal.
So far, the only two rumored names are Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe, and Caitlyn Jenner, the star of the new E! reality show, I Am Cait .
Bristowe, who is rumored to get engaged on the Bachelorette season finale on July 27, was a dance instructor previous to becoming a reality star. A number of Bachelor and Bachelorette stars joined the cast in the past — Sean Lowe, Melissa Rycroft, Jake Pavelka, and Trista Sutter — so the transition from one ABC reality show to the next seems like a possibility.
Before Bristowe started filming the Bachelorette , she was thrilled to meet Derek Hough — one of DWTS pro-dancers — before an interview on Good Morning America . If she is cast, hopefully the man of her dreams will stand by her, unlike Bachelor Chris Soules’ failed relationship with Whitney Bischoff.
There have been conflicting rumors about Caitlyn Jenner taking to the DWTS dance floor in the fall, but there is one thing that is for sure — pro-dancers Cheryl Burke, Tony Dovolani, and Val Chmerkovskiy all support the idea.
Burke recently told Entertainment Tonight that it would be “amazing” to have Caitlyn as a contestant; Tony and Val agreed, stating that she should “absolutely” join the cast.
