Although the Outlander trailer seen during Comic-Con in San Diego this year has yet to be officially released, photos from the upcoming season, along with a few blooper reel clips, have been posted online. As fans wait for the release of Season 2, the photos and video offer fans a look at what they can expect from their favorite time-traveling couple as the series enters its second season.
The photos shown to fans at Comic-Con include one of Caitriona Balfe as Claire in a period dress, while the other features Sam Heughan as Jamie Fraser sitting down with a French man drinking wine.
Season 2 of the hit show will see Claire and Jamie head to Paris , France, and deal with the events that occur in Diana Gabaldon’s second book, Dragonfly in Amber . During the panel discussion at Comic-Con, Ronald D. Moore discussed a little on what fans can expect to see in the coming season.
“We’re picking up, we’re going to Paris,” Moore stated .
“They’re going to try and stop the Jacobite rebellion … Claire is pregnant: the first season was a courtship, and now they’re married.”
Moore added that while the series will focus on the couple in Paris, they would “return to Scotland in the second half of the season.” He went on to state that adapting the second book was more complicated than the first.
“The second book is more complex than the first book in a lot of ways … [there’s] a lot of moving parts,” he stated.
At the same time, Balfe shared that she was excited to begin filming for Season 2 and that she can’t wait for the new season to premiere for fans. “It was really so exciting when we came back,” she explained. “To step into this new world was very exciting for me. I’m excited for people to see [it].”
Heughan added that he was also enthusiastic about starting things up for the new season. “In the book, it gets emotion,” he stated. “It’s a great climax to the entire season.”
Meanwhile, the blooper clip that was shown during Comic-Con features Balfe having difficulties running through the woods in a dress, and being distracted while trying to stitch up Sam Heughan . The clips, released by Entertainment Weekly , are a small sample of what is expected to be included on the DVD released for Season 1, which is expected to be out on September 29.
