If the behind-the-scenes pictures are of any indication, Charlie Hunnam has been having a great time filming his newest movie, Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur . Director Guy Ritchie has spent a good deal of time documenting the production of the film by posting numerous photos of the cast and crew to his Instagram account.
One image shows Hunnam sitting with the rest of the cast members posing for a group shot. Ritchie can be seen in the middle, pointing to the camera, while the rest of actors are sitting around him in their full costumes.
A second image depicts Hunnam sitting next to Ritchie. Both men have their arms folded across their chests with very serious looks on their faces.
Meanwhile, another picture shows Charlie Hunnam having a laugh will fellow cast member Djimon Hounsou. The image shows the two actors laughing at Ritchie, who is sitting on Hunnam’s lap with his arm around his shoulder.
Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthuris a re-telling of the famous English tale and will follow a young version of King Arthur before he rises to the throne. The Sons of Anarchy star will be playing Arthur, who runs a gang in the alleyways of Londonium before discovering the power of Excalibur.
With Ritchie’s version of the classic tale being different than anything we’ve seen, it isn’t clear how the characters will be different from their traditional versions. For instance, it isn’t known if the romance between Guinevere, played by Astrid Berges-Frisbey, and Arthur will be similar to the old stories or not.
However, it is known that the main villain in the film will be Vortigern, played by Jude Law, and that Arthur and Guinevere will team up to lead the fight against the evil tyrant after Arthur finds the fabled sword.
With production of the film well underway, Hunnam is certainly thrilled to be a part of the movie. In a recent interview with Men’s Journal , Hunnam talked about how he’s a huge fan of anything Guy Ritchie, and how the story of King Arthur had a major influence on him as a young man.
“I’m thrilled man. I’ve been watching Guy’s movies since he first came on the scene, and I think you could say that the King Arthur story is why I got into acting in the first place… I fell in love with the story and would watch any of the movie about the story that played when I was a kid.”
