Dylann Roof’s Neighbor In Detention Center Is Former Police Officer Michael Slager

Dylann Roof has been officially charged for the racially motivated mass shooting in Charleston, South Carolina. He is currently awaiting trial at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center, where he is currently detained next door to another infamous cell mate.

Dylann Roof and Michael Slager are currently detained next to each other as they both await trial. Michael Slager is accused of murdering Walter Scott back in April after shooting the unarm civilian eight times in the back. The murder sparked outrage across the nation as many protested against police brutality shown particularly towards African Americans.

According to reports , Dylann Roof is currently detained in cell 1141B while Michael Slager is detained in cell 1140B. Michael Slager’s attorney has pointed out that he is currently in isolation.

Dylann Roof’s brutal murder of nine African Americans in the historic African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina, has amplified the conversation about race relations in the United States and the issue of gun control.

The mass shooting has led to many calling for the removal of the Dixie confederate flag from the South Carolina capitol.

Despite the horrific mass shooting, the church will be open for Sunday service at 9 a.m. Many churches will ring their bells in solidarity at 10 a.m. on Sunday. On Sunday night, a unity chain will be held at Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge, where organizers hope to attract enough people to hold hands and stretch from Charleston to the town of Mount Pleasant on the other side of the Cooper River.
