By the time tonight’s card for WWE’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view comes to a close, there will a new champion of some sorts crowned. That is one of many bold predictions for tonight’s show on the WWE Network.
The Money in the Bank card stacks up well when being compared to some of the live events that have aired on the WWE Network these days. The shows, which have been live every couple of weeks, can hardly be called pay-per-views, seeing that unless you have the WWE Network, you have to follow the Twitter feeds and hashtags for the results. By then, you are frustrated enough from not being able to watch the action yourself that you would fork over the reasonable $9.95 monthly fee to view the same level of shows that used to cost upwards of $50.
As a lure, the WWE gives the fans the beloved Money in the Bank show that is highlighted by Dean Ambrose challenging Seth Rollins for the WWE World Title — in a ladder match, no less.

Also on the MITB card is New Day defending their tag team titles. They will be looking at holding off the Prime-Time Players. If you watched the Elimination Chamber two weeks ago, you can recall that these were the final two teams left standing in the first-ever tag team chamber match. That match was exciting. It is one the matches which the members of New Day are going to be featured. Kofi Kingston, one of the usual representatives of the New Day’s tag team battles, is in the actual Money in the Bank match.
Could today become a new day for the WWE?
No black WWE superstar has ever won the MITB match. And with all signs pointing to Roman Reigns winning the match, do not expect a change in that trend. What you should expect is a different Kofi Kingston from what you have witnessed in the past. He is now a heel. Look for a very aggressive Kingston to grab some of the spotlight, building him up for a big push, similar to what the WWE did with R-Truth. Only this time, with more staying power.

As for the match itself, while Reigns looks like the odds-on favorite, it would behoove the WWE to give that briefcase to another superstar who needs the push. Roman Reigns does not need the briefcase to secure a shot at the title. He was the winner of this year’s Royal Rumble and could conceivably win it again. Reigns winning the Money in the Bank match is pointless viewing.
Giving that opportunity to a wrestler like Sheamus or the aforementioned Kofi Kingston makes sense. Both could believably weasel a way into cashing in after the champion has been beat up. Both could also win it, or lose it. My money is on Dolph Ziggler to wind up with it. He has won it before, and now with a budding on-screen romance with Lana, there is already a built-in angle that can be taken advantage of. The other participants, Randy Orton, Neville, and Kane, do not have a great chance at winning realistically. If Neville even makes it to the match, giving his on-going feud with Bo Dallas is questionable.
There is also the rematch of the easy winner for the match of the year honors, NXT Champion Kevin Owens facing United States Champion John Cena.

Cena will have his hands full in this match that, sadly, will live up to the billing as their first match. Do not be surprised to see Owens lose the second battle between these two.
The sad passing of Dusty Rhodes will be talked about. A fitting tribute will take place tonight, one day before the WWE Network airs a special on him after Monday Night RAW . It would be fitting to see Goldust and Stardust compete on the card as a tribute to their father. There is nothing confirmed about this, it is just my prediction that the WWE will find a way to put them out there in some capacity tonight.

The Intercontinental belt is on the line. Ryback finally gets his hands on The Big Show in the ring. This will be a continuation of Ryback’s coming out party. Facing Show is your typical “put him over” type of match that will determine if Ryback is ready for the big time.
Thrown in is the Divas’ Title match between Nikki Bella and Paige. Then you have the actual World Title bout on this packed Money in the Bank card.
Dean Ambrose will walk out with the belt. My prediction is that Brock Lesnar comes out to get his revenge on Seth Rollins, costing him the title. By ladder matches being a no-disqualification affair, Ambrose will walk out with the title officially around his waist. There will be no cashing in on the MITB briefcase tonight, even if Roman Reigns predictably wins.
I see Reigns coming out in support of his friend before unleashing a vicious attack, effectively setting up one of the main events, WWE Battleground . The second one is Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins.
As I previously stated, I am not sure if Neville will make it to the actual Money in the Bank match. My bold prediction is that something happens backstage, opening the door for a surprise superstar to be added to the MITB match.
Perhaps Kevin Owens, maybe even Samoa Joe, whose merchandise is flying off the shelves . Could there be a Samoa Joe sighting at WWE’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view? Nothing is confirmed, but Samoa Joe signed a contract to compete full-time on the WWE for a reason.
