I Escaped My Killer , is a shocking true crime documentary that is scheduled to premiere tonight on the Lifetime Movie Network (LMN) I Escaped My Killer will tell the heroic stories of several women who were once crime victims, but escaped their killers and lived to tell about it. Lifetime has been the leader in the true-crime, movies based on true story genre since the late 1980’s, later moving them over to the Lifetime Movie Network in the 1990s. Now, the station is competing with the Investigation Discovery Network (ID) by offering true-crime documentaries, such as Killer Kids. The Inquisitr reported yesterday that Investigation Discovery is now delving into the true-story movie business with the debut of Serial Thriller: Angel of Decay last night.
According to Lifetime Television, I Escaped My Killer will profile the stories of women who have been kidnapped by serial killers. Viewers will get to listen to first-hand accounts of these terrifying stories as the former victims give details on how and where they were abducted and how they finally made their escape. I Escaped My Killer promises to help other women who may find themselves in similar circumstances. This show seeks to save lives.
Not only will viewers hear first-hand accounts of these disturbing ordeals, they will also learn how police investigators tracked these killers down during the second half of the show.
Lifetime teased I Escaped My Killer.
“‘I Escaped My Killer’ tells the true stories of women who were abducted by serial killers, and somehow made it out of their grasp…not only with their own lives but also with the information needed to break the case, save other lives and bring a monster to justice. A true hybrid of storytelling, half the episode is the harrowing, blow-by-blow tale of one woman’s struggle for survival against the ultimate evil; the other half is the story of a killer on the loose and the detectives who doggedly work to track him down and stop his reign of terror. Artfully woven together, the two stories finally merge into one in the final act[s] when the stories naturally come together. Each woman who escapes and survives is the key to solving the entire case, the break that investigators have been waiting for. This new format sets the series apart from other survival shows that only follow a single point of view. Our format will show the broader picture from the investigators’ whodunit point of view as well as the intimate story of one woman fighting for survival and for justice.”
