Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan has been keeping largely silent on the social media front these days. Following the hype after the release of the erotic drama, and the news of the sequel, Dornan has been posting less and less on his social media accounts in order to try and keep his life normal.
Dornan recently sat down for an interview with Gold Derby and stated that he has been “actively trying to avoid social media and stuff” because paying attention to what everyone is saying online makes his increased popularity more real. He related that checking in on his social media accounts “suddenly just feels…like it’s real, that there are all these people who are interested in what you’re doing.”
By avoiding the reality of his stardom, Dornan is able to live a fairly normal life.
“I mean, we live a pretty quiet life,” he said in the interview. “My wife [Amelia] and I and our baby…we’re not massively aware of it, we just go about our day. We’re not chased down the street or anything.”
Meanwhile, another reason he chooses to stay away from social media is because of the time it consumes.
“Another thing that’s been good is that I’ve been consistently working. When you’re working, you’re so in that – you’re going to work, and you’re coming home and being with family, then you’re back to work…you’re in this kind of bubble.”
While fans may be disappointed that Dornan isn’t actively online, they’ll have plenty of opportunities to see him on the big screen as he reprises his role as Christian Grey in the next two films of the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise.
This time around, fans may get to see even more of Dornan than they did in the first film. According to Hollywood Life (via Star ) the studio and producers are willing to dip way into their pockets in order for Dornan to show his fans everything.
“They’re offering Jamie a bonus of $1.5 million to do a full-frontal scene in Fifty Shades Darker ,” a source told Star magazine. “That’s just a starting figure,” the source added. “Jamie would be crazy not to consider it.”
The full frontal rumors have yet to be confirmed, but both Dornan and Dakota Johnson are set to star in Fifty Shades Darker (February 2017) and Fifty Shades Freed (February 2018).
