Nikkie is a Youtube sensation from the Netherlands who is a beauty guru that provides amazing makeup tutorials. However, Nikkie says that she had seen a lot of “makeup shaming” lately and wanted to make a video to showcase how fun makeup can be.
The video, which was uploaded to NikkieTutorials , shows the beauty diva bare-faced. Nikkie says that she has seen a lot of makeup shaming from people that say women only put on makeup to “impress boys” or because they are insecure.
“I have been noticing a lot lately that girls have been almost ashamed to say they love makeup because nowadays when you say you love makeup you either do it because you wanna look good for boys, you do it because you’re insecure or you do it because you don’t love yourself.”
However, Nikkie says that couldn’t be further from the truth and she does it because it is fun. She points out that if she is not wearing makeup during the day people do not believe she is the same person as in the videos. The beauty tipster says that she is not shy about going “full on glam” in her videos and that makeup can drastically change her look.
However, Nikkie notes that she doesn’t use makeup to impress men or because she has low self-esteem. Instead, she says that makeup is fun and that there is no shame in doing something that is fun.
“I just want people to know that makeup is fun and there are no rules to make and if you wanna go super sharp-contour for the day, do it.”
Nikki completes her video by doing an amazing makeover to one side of her face to show the true “power of makeup.”
