Fans can watch the Mexico vs. Brazil soccer match live online and see which team comes out on top in what amounts to a tune-up for the Copa America.
The match will start Sunday at 4 p.m. ET (5 p.m. local time) from Allianz Parque in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Fans who watch the Mexico vs. Brazil soccer match live online will see an international friendly match with a little more at stake than the average exhibition. As SB Nation notes, Copa America favorite Brazil will be playing in its first friendly match and getting an important test before the tournament begins in a few weeks.
“With the Copa America rapidly approaching, the involved teams have almost run out of time to get their tuneup friendlies in. Mexico have already had a pair of them, thumping Guatemala before struggling to a draw with Peru, while Brazil have waited until today to have their first. That extra bit of sharpness could give Mexico something of an edge in this match, at least in the early goings.”
The match isn’t expected to be much of a test for Brazil, however. Mexico has been fielding what some have called a “B squad” for the Copa America, as coach Miguel Herrera appears focused on the Gold Cup later this summer.
International Business Times noted some of the lineup changes.
“European stars Javier “Chicharito” Hernández, Carlos Vela, Hector Herrera, Andres Guardado and Hector Moreno will all go to the Gold Cup, leaving a more inexperienced squad to go south to the Copa America. Still, Herrera has dismissed the idea the players he does have aren’t capable of making an impact in Chile.”
Herrera has dismissed talk that he’s taking a lesser squad to the Copa America, saying he’s still got a team he believes can with the Copa America.
“I’ve never talked about an A selection or a B selection,” he said, via Medio Tiempo . “This team is put together to reach the final.”
“We’ll give a few teams a scare and, while we’ll face tough opponents, we’ll be a different team than we were in the last edition.”
Herrera’s players are on board as well, with striker Raul Jimenez saying he believes the team can win it all. That makes Sunday’s match against Brazil an important benchmark.
