‘Reality Steve’ Explains Why ‘Bachelor’ Chris And Whitney Broke Up: ‘He Was Never Interested In Marrying Anyone’

Reality Steve predicted that Chris Soules and Whitney Bischoff would split months before Thursday’s official announcement that the Bachelor couple are no longer engaged. The breakup did not come as a big surprise to most fans, especially those who read Steve’s spoilers, but one question remains — why did their relationship end?

On Thursday afternoon, E! News released a statement from Chris and Whitney that was not unlike the one released by Bachelorette Andi Dorfman and her fiancé Josh Murray in January.

  • “They [Chris and Whitney] part with nothing but respect and admiration for one another and will continue to be supportive friends.”
  • “We [Andi and Josh] will continue to be good friends and have nothing but great things to say about each other and wish each other the best.”

The seemingly scripted statement doesn’t give a reason for the split, but aside from cheating rumors , it appears that Chris and Whitney didn’t make it due to lifestyle differences.

Before Chris handed out his final rose on the Bachelor season finale in early March, Reality Steve stated in his weekly video chat that their relationship would not end in marriage. He cited a few reasons why a breakup was in the cards, including the show’s track record, Whitney’s job as a nurse in Chicago, and Chris’ lifestyle in Arlington, Iowa — a town with less than 500 residents.

“He is not marrying Whitney. He was never interested in marrying anyone from that show. So whether they’re actually broken up now, whether it happens in two weeks, or whether it happens in two months, does it really matter? They’re never getting married, plain and simple.”

There has been speculation that the couple broke up several weeks ago, after Whitney made a quick visit to see Chris on his Iowa farm. According to her Instagram post , the fertility nurse drove from Chicago to Arlington after Chris was eliminated on Dancing with the Stars .

Days after their visit in Iowa, Chris tweeted a photo taken at a DWTS after party in L.A. The photo shows Chris hamming it up for the cameras with friends, but Whitney looked less than thrilled. Less than two weeks later, the couple formally announced their break-up.

Bachelor host Chris Harrison tells E! News that he’s “truly sorry” that Chris and Whitney ended their engagement, stating that he “will do anything to support them during a tough time.”

Were you surprised to find out that Chris and Whitney broke up, or did Reality Steve’s prediction prepare you for yet another Bachelor split?
