It seems like the “Bad Blood” between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry is only getting worse. A new report claims that the country-turned-pop singer had the “Dark Horse” singer banned from the Billboard Music Awards.
Last Sunday night was Taylor Swift’s night. She was premiering her new music video for “Bad Blood.” Swift brought along her entourage of celebrity girlfriends to support her and root her on. The singer also showed off her new boyfriend, Calvin Harris.
According to a previous report via Sugarscape , Katy was “ scared off ” from attending the awards show after hearing that Taylor was attending with all of her girlfriends. It also didn’t help that the fact Taylor planned to premiere her music video at the Billboard Music Awards. Those factors made Katy decide against going.
“She had a private plane on standby, but at the last second, she decided she wasn’t going.”
The report goes on to say that Perry had to cancel her eyelash extension appointment. She also had a custom dress on hold that she had to give back to the designer. But it wasn’t Swift who talked Perry out of going to the Billboard Music Awards. According to the inside source, it was John Mayer – of all people – who convinced Perry not to go the awards show. He kindly reminded the pop star that Swift and her “mean girls” crew would be there to heckle Perry.
“John convinced her it was a bad idea. Katy realised she couldn’t stand the idea of the cameras being on her face as she had to watch Taylor win every award with all her friends applauding her.”
Katy has a few tricks up her sleeve as well. It was previously reported via the Inquisitr that she plans to write a diss track about Taylor.
“Katy thinks revenge is a dish best served cold. She’s even more determined to show people what she calls ‘the real Taylor’ — she’s writing some big, anthemic-type songs that’ll feature dirt on Taylor that John’s told her from when they used to date.
Katy’s sure that she’ll be back on top before long, and Taylor will regret ever starting this stupid row.”
Ouch.
Taylor Swift and Katy Perry used to be best friends. In fact, the dueling divas used to hang out and party together. A report in Page Six claims that Swift and Perry’s feud really began over Mayer, not over backup dancers.
Their alleged feud also heated up when Katy starting dating John in 2012, who was infamously known as Taylor’s ex-boyfriend. After the musician dumped her, she wrote the song “Dear John” about him. Taylor also hinted to Rolling Stone magazine that she wasn’t sure if Katy was her true friend or not. She remarked how Katy would give her weird looks and backhanded compliments that left her wondering if they were really friends or frenemies.
