Payback is coming up this Sunday, followed by Elimination Chamber in two weeks, so WWE has a full slate ahead of them. After that, wrestling fans will find out which Superstar wins the all-important briefcase at Money in the Bank in June, and then, Battleground takes place in July. Finally, SummerSlam will close out the WWE’s Summer main events in August. That is when Brock Lesnar is expected to have a match, but with whom?
For now, Lesnar’s return date is expected to be either at the Battleground event or more likely at Monday Night Raw the night after. That would give him a month to build up to a match at SummerSlam , and fans are simply curious as to who it could be against.
At this time, the WWE rumor mill is flowing and three possible opponents are on the horizon. Here they are in no particular order.
Going after Seth Rollins is an obvious choice because he’s the man that ultimately took the title away from The Beast even if he didn’t actually pin Brock Lesnar. Now, Lesnar merely wants his title back and will do anything to get it.
Rollins taking on Lesnar is a total mismatch, but it wouldn’t be as bad if The Shield was reunited and watching his back. This would also mean that Rollins holds onto the belt throughout the entire summer, but that may happen later.
One of the hottest rumors going on right now is Lesnar going after Randy Orton upon his return, Christian Today reported. The only sense this would make is if Orton wins the WWE World Heavyweight Title at Payback and holds onto it for a few months.
It’s just really hard to think that Orton is going to win on Sunday, but anything is possible. Still, Rollins losing the title now is not a great idea unless The Shield really does unite. Still, an Orton vs. Lesnar feud is something fresh, and it hasn’t been seen in years.
One option the Inquisitr heard is that WWE is thinking about a Brock Lesnar vs. Bray Wyatt feud. Their feud is one that may be a bit further down the road, though, and it would see Wyatt attempting to play mind games with Lesnar. Can you imagine the promos with Wyatt versus Paul Heyman?
Like Rollins, some believe that a straight-up Wyatt and Lesnar match wouldn’t be much competition, but the Wyatt Family reunion seems to be in the works and would even up the score. Fans are advised to be patient as the long-awaited return of the Wyatt’s will probably occur later in the year, if it happens at all.
Brock Lesnar’s return from his indefinite suspension is getting ever closer, and fans are chomping at the bit for it. Now his comeback feud is being whittled down as well, and any of these seem like valid possibilities, but it’s WWE’s move now.
