Wayward Pines: Where Paradise Is Home’s season premiere airs tonight on FOX. The highly anticipated TV mini-series is produced by FX Productions and is written by Chad Hodge. Here is the Wayward Pines: Where Paradise Is Home synopsis.
When secret service agent Ethan Burke arrives at Wayward Pines, a small but charmingly scenic town in Idaho, he has just one goal — to find out what happened to two missing federal agents. But as he arrives, he is involved in a freak accident that lands him in a hospital without his identification, cell phone, or his case notes. When he gains consciousness, Ethan Burke can feel that something is not right, despite the friendly faces and the town’s seemingly calm and attractive nature.
And after finding a grotesque decomposing body in a house not far from the local police station and alerting a seemingly disinterested sheriff, Burke realizes that his feelings are dead on as he encounters even more strange twists and turns while sinking deeper into the investigation.
Everyone seems to be a prisoner in the non-ordinary place. And just when Ethan Burke decides to leave and asks the local sheriff how to get out of the town, the sheriff answers simply: “You don’t.”
In this eerie psychological thriller, which was filmed in Canada, viewers will be taken on a bizarre ride throughout the picturesque town of Wayward Pines. The cinematography is exceptional, the plot and mood music are well-thought out, and Matt Dillon and Terrence Howard are on fire in this creative and imaginative new television series. In a phrase, Wayward Pines is like Twin Peaks, The Stepford Wives , and The Twilight Zone all rolled into one.
