Charlie Hunnam , who rose to fame for his role as Jax Teller in Sons of Anarchy , has been plenty busy with new projects now that the hit FX biker series is over. In fact the Sons of Anarchy star has been featured in a number of different films , according to Movie News Guide , including Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim , Crimson Peak , and Guy Ritchie’s upcoming movie Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur .

In keeping busy with a variety of different projects, Hunnam revealed just how he keeps his body in shape for the demanding role. In a past interview with GQ magazine , Hunnam put the blame on Brad Pitt for having to look top notch in his roles.

“I was shooting Sons of Anarchy until two weeks before we started shooting Pacific Rim , and Guillermo said [puts on Mexican accent] ‘My friend, I need you to show up looking like a man capable of saving the world!’ I thought, ‘Aw, F***’ because you know, f******g Brad Pitt ruined it for everyone,” Hunnam related to GQ .

“After Fight Club , the expectation of what a dude is supposed to look like when he takes his shirt off is just so high. So I said ‘I’ll try and make it happen.’”

Charlie Hunnam went on to explain how difficult it is keeping in shape and how people sometimes think that actors have it easy.”You know what? Being an actor is fantastic because you get to live your dreams and all of that, but I always think it’s slightly irritating when you hear from the outside world and people are like, ‘Yeah, well if I was an actor and all I had to do was look good, I could be that ripped too.’”

So, how does Hunnam keep in shape? According to the Hollywood hunk, he keeps himself looking good by spending long hours in the gym. “So I shot 14-15 hours a day on Sons , then I would go to the gym for two and half hours every day after work,” Hunnam said. “I work 15 hours a day and still go to the gym. Most people work eight hours a day and say ‘I haven’t go time to work out.’ B******t! If you want to be super-fit and look ripped then you find the time no matter what.””

Along with his other upcoming movie roles, Charlie Hunnam is set to appear alongside Brad Pitt, Robert Pattinson, and Sienna Miller in the coming film The Lost City of Z .
