WWE News: Chris Jericho Makes Huge Announcement, Says He’s Returning To WWE This Summer

Published on: May 6, 2015 at 9:04 AM

Last week, Chris Jericho teased that he would be making a major announcement on the next edition of Talk is Jericho , which immediately had people saying that he was going to announce that he’s returning to WWE at some point in the near future. Well, that’s exactly what the announcement was, as Jericho announced today on his podcast that he’s returning to WWE in June and will be doing 19 live events, and no television or pay-per-view events for the company. Jericho’s WWE live event tour will begin on June 12 in Springfield, Illinois and end on August 30 in Tallahassee, Florida.

While Jericho said that he’s only coming back for the live events, he didn’t rule out the possibility of returning to WWE television or doing a pay-per-view match. Jericho’s big announcement is transcribed below.

“My summer schedule is filling up, it’s getting quite busy, and the reason for that is I’m returning to WWE. I’m doing the live events again, like I did a couple of months ago. So no TV’s, no pay-per-views. Not to say that won’t happen again soon. But, for now it’s the live events only, and the reason for that is I still have some Fozzy tours. We have Montreal, and we’re doing some festivals in Canada, we’re doing a couple shows at casinos in the mid-west, plus my daughter’s birthday is in July… So I had a couple of things that I needed to take care of, but in the meantime I’m doing 19 shows with WWE in June, July and August.”

Jericho has said in the past that his band Fozzy is now his first priority and that he’ll only return to WWE television if WWE has something that’s good, as he doesn’t want to get “Fandango’d” again.

It also appears that there won’t be any Live! With Chris Jericho podcasts on the WWE Network any time soon due to Jericho’s schedule, which could open the door for “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s podcast to return to the WWE Network, as Austin is still interested in doing his podcast on the WWE Network if WWE offers him the right deal.
