Rihanna Makes Grand Entrance At Met Gala With Stunning Yellow Gown

Rihanna has always been known for her eye-catching wardrobe choices, but the yellow ensemble that she wore in this year’s Met Gala is by far the most stunning of all. If there is an award for grand entrances, she sure deserves the first place.

At the Metropolitan Museum of Art 2015 Costume Institute Benefit on Monday, Rihanna arrived fashionably late with three train assistants. Having the red carpet all to herself, she made her grand entrance with a magnificent yellow robe designed by Chinese designer Guo Pei. Her robe was so long that it required three wranglers to help the singer walk in her outfit.

In detail, her yellow robe was trimmed with yellow fur detail. The robe, which was made out of smooth silk material, features a display of intricate oriental embroidery done in golden colors. All in all, Rihanna’s cape looked royal and fit only for an empress.

Likewise, the color choice of yellow isn’t a random one. The yellow plays a significant part in Chinese culture, which happens to be the theme of the Met exhibition “China: Through the Looking Glass.” In the Chinese culture, yellow is the color of royalty and can only be used by the emperor. With that, it is clear that Rihanna is indeed making a statement.

Inside the cape, Rihanna opted for a little pink number which she matched with an interesting headpiece which elicited a lot of positive response from critics. Her golden headdress perfectly matched her newly dyed red hair and her whole outfit as well. As a matter of fact, many critics point out that it is the very piece that brings her whole look together.

The online source Hollywood Life , for one, raved about Rihanna’s headpiece saying that it “matched perfectly with her dark red hair for an overall stunning look. This was without a doubt one look that will go down in fashion/beauty history.”

The singer is also commended for representing a Chinese designer, as it is rare for Hollywood celebrities to go for such designers. Apparently, Guo Pei is not just any Chinese fashion designer, as MTV News describes him as “China’s answer to Alexander McQueen.” According the online source, he is popular for frequently catering to the fashion needs of Chinese celebrities, such as the Zhang Ziyi, Li Bingbing, and Fan Bingbing.

Aside from making grand entrances, Rihanna currently has her hands full with the upcoming release of her new album.
