The ultimate act of evil is abuse. A King’s Mountain, North Carolina, senior beagle named Libby was in her own back yard when she was beheaded on Thursday night. The family had let their three dogs out into their fenced back yard as usual. Unfortunately, when they went to look for Libby in the 100 block of South Gaston Street in Kings Mountain, a friend of the family found just her lifeless corpse , with no head, according to WCNC Charlotte. Her head is still missing in this bizarre, sick case. What type of nasty individuals would do this is unknown, and the police department is seeking the public’s help to find who did this. The family’s other two dogs were not harmed.
Libby’owners are at a loss who would do such a horrific act to their sweet 13-year-old beagle, a rescue they had about six years. She had an eye infection as a stray when found and had to have her eyes removed and was deaf too. Libby’s owners say someone hopped a fence at the house in the 100 block of South Gaston Street in Kings Mountain. An ax, shovel, and propane tank were taken from a shed. Shirley Morrow, one of Libby’s owners, indicated that the scene was so horrific and gory , they did not show their children what happened to Libby, and are not telling them the details of her demise. She also indicated that she was home at the time and didn’t hear any disturbance. She said the following, according to The Charlotte Observer.
“Who would do that? Why anybody would do that to an animal? [It was] not uncommon for her to lay out there in the sun, lay under the trees and sleep.”
The poor, trusting Libby loved to be petted and receive attention. She probably thought the dangerous miscreant who did this was a friend. It’s not clear whether the person who did this was known by her or her family. Dennis Morrow, Libby’s owner, said the following, according to The Charlotte Observer.
“She [Libby] had no idea it was coming. She loved to have her head scratched and everything. When the person touched her she probably just laid down and let them. We’re watching them [their other dogs] closer. Can’t really change dogs’ behaviors. They want to go out. You gotta let them out….She was a rescued blind beagle, got around with no eyes. Loving dog. Smart little dog. Couldn’t believe it. You don’t think something like that would happen in a small town. They’re sick individuals out here in the world now. We need to pray for them.”
Whoever did this is obviously a dangerous person or dangerous persons. There is a $5,000 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) involved in the death of this dog, according to the Examiner. Anyone who would like to contribute to the reward fund may contact the director of Tri County, Joann Hager at 704-263-2444. And anyone with information about Libby is asked to call Kings Mountain Police Cpl. Paul Alexander at 704-734-0444 or 704-730-2119.

In another case of abuse , the Byerly family of North Carolina is ecstatic because their family member, a pit bull named Duke, is back. A few weeks ago, the dog was stolen from their front yard after a strange vehicle stopped and took him. The passenger door of a four-door, white car took Duke and sped off. The family reported him missing and offered a reward. Although Duke came back with wounds indicative of dog fighting, he is safe again and loved, according to an article in the Inquisitr.
