Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of The Bachelorette premieres on May 18, and there’s one guy who appears to have a bad attitude on the very first night in the mansion. The official promo for Season 11 shows contestant Ryan McDill arguing with one of his castmates shortly after stepping out of the limo. Will he be this season’s villain, or was it just a misunderstanding?
McDill’s name may sound familiar to die-hard Bachelor Nation fans — he’s the ex-boyfriend of Nikki Ferrell, who won the final rose on Juan Pablo’s season of the Bachelor. The 28-year-old hails from Kansas City, Missouri, and owns an auto recycling business.
According to Reality Steve , Ryan graduated from the University of Missouri in 2010, and started dating Nikki in 2012. Their relationship ended in 2013, and Nikki became a contestant on the Bachelor Season 18 in 2014.
After Nikki accepted Juan Pablo’s final rose in March, 2014, Ryan told Life & Style that she was “the one who got away” — he predicted that they would get back together again . So far, his prediction hasn’t come true, perhaps prompting him to try to find love on the Bachelorette instead.
According to WetPaint , the guy that Ryan argues with on the season premiere of the Bachelorette is Shawn Evans , a realtor from Canada. The promo video from ABC shows a tense interaction between the two that has McDill telling Evans, “Don’t lay a hand on me!”
Of course, this is reality TV, so it could be heavily edited to make both of them look like this season’s bad guys.
There’s no word on how long McDill stays on the show, but it will be interesting to see if Nikki tweets anything negative about his when the show airs in May. WetPaint states that Ryan looks “outdoorsy,” so he might be a fit with “low-maintenance Kaitlyn.”
“A glance at his (now-private) Instagram profile also showed that he’s got a lot of friends, loves dogs, and probably spends a few hours in the gym from time to time.”
If Ryan likes a girl with a sense of humor, Kaitlyn definitely has the gift of laughter. His ex, Nikki Ferrell, definitely has a sarcastic side to her, so perhaps they will click.
Find out if Ryan McDill turns out to be the love of Kaitlyn Bristowe’s life. Tune in to watch the two-night premiere of the Bachelorette on May 18 and 19 on ABC.
