With months to wait until Season 6 of AMC’s The Walking Dead starts, fans are now wondering when the spin-off series, Fear The Walking Dead, will commence. The only official word fans have received from AMC is that it will start this summer. This means Fear The Walking Dead could start as early as June or as late as the last week in August.
While AMC will potentially have their their Walking Dead shows crossover sometime in the future, they will probably not want the shows airing at the same time. It is also possible they will not want too big a gap between the finale of Fear The Walking Dead and the premiere of The Walking Dead, which normally starts in October.
With fans eager to learn the start date, unsubstantiated rumors started to fly today that Fear The Walking Dead would commence on June 12. The first appearance seems to be on Twitter from a Walking Dead fan account. The tweet has since been removed. Many media outlets then went on to report this as the start date, but, once again, most of these media sources have since retracted their articles, so it looks like there was absolutely no truth behind that date.
The best way to find out exactly when Fear The Walking Dead will premiere is to sign up to AMC’s newsletter via their official website . Alternatively, you can follow The Walking Dead on Twitter for official news on both of these programs. As the date of publication, there is no verified official Fear The Walking Dead Twitter account although there are several accounts that do look legitimate, but are not yet bearing the blue verified tick. And until a start date is announced on these official platforms, you can disregard all the other rumors.
As for any recent news about Fear The Walking Dead , according to WetPaint , during the NAB Show in Las Vegas, Robert Kirkman said this new TV series will not be dealing with what caused the zombie virus – news that will disappoint most fans.
“[Learning the origins] is not the priority in Walking Dead ; that’s not the priority in Fear The Walking Dead . It’s not about fixing this world, and it’s not about learning what the cause is. Every other story deals with that stuff and we’re concerned about the heart.”
With reports that Robert Kirkman has signed a deal with Universal Pictures and The Walking Dead potentially also being made into a movie it seems, even without a Fear The Walking Dead official start date yet, Walking Dead fans will be able to get their walker fix all year round now!
