The correct question to ask is, of course, when will Iris find out the truth again on The Flash ? Fortunately, that seems to be coming – and before it probably would if this were any other show. Then again, this is also the series that introduced time travel in Episode 15 and had Barry, Cisco, and Caitlin find Dr. Wells’ secret room in Episode 19, things that other series might have used as season finale cliffhangers.
Barry previously revealed that he’s the one who has been speeding around Central City to Iris in The Flash Spisode 15, “Out of Time,” when Mark Mardon terrorized the city and sought revenge for his brother’s death. Just before he did, Barry and Iris kissed after she admitted her feelings for him. That all changed when he ran so fast, he traveled through time, and things did not play out the same way the second time around.
Since then, Barry and Joe have brought Eddie in on the big secret, and he has been very vocal about how he feels about keeping Iris in the dark. While Joe still insists it’s the best way to keep her safe, Eddie very much disagrees and it has begun to affect their relationship, with Iris even moving back home with Barry and Joe for a short while. After Eddie nearly ended up behind bars for a crime he didn’t commit thanks to the metahuman shapeshifter in “Who Is Harrison Wells?”, Iris told him she was moving back home – and he told her that he’s been working with The Flash. How will Joe react once he finds out about that? As he told Eddie before, being her father trumps being her boyfriend.
According to the official description of Episode 20, “The Trap,” as posted on ComicBook.com , “Eddie (Rick Cosnett) (Candice Patton) makes a decision regarding Iris, which leaves Joe a bit unsettled.”
Is that decision the one to tell her he’s working with the Flash, or is it something else?
Furthermore, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg has told TVLine that Iris finds out the truth “a lot sooner than” the season finale, airing May 19.
“How that happens and how it plays out with everybody else is going to make up the core of the last few episodes. She is not [going to be] happy with Joe and Barry and Eddie.”
The quick glimpses of Iris in the trailer released at WonderCon this month do suggest that she’s going to have to find out the truth sooner rather than later.
The Flash airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on the CW.
