WWE News: Updated Card For ‘Extreme Rules’ – Title Match Changed, Huge Street Fight And Title Match Added

Published on: April 21, 2015 at 1:23 PM

After the results of Monday Night Raw , the card for Extreme Rules has changed a good bit with two new matches added and one title match altered. Now, there are a total of eight matches on the card and barring any drastic things happening at the SmackDown taping on Tuesday night, this will be the final card.

One of the biggest new additions is that of a Chicago Street Fight between Dean Ambrose and Luke Harper.

This match has been rumored since their interaction at WrestleMania 31 when Luke Harper powerbombed Dean Ambrose on a ladder. In the following weeks, they’ve gone after one another and beaten the hell out of each other. This one is going to get very violent in a hurry.

The second addition to the Extreme Rules card is a match for the Tag-Team Championship, but it has been knocked down to the Kickoff Show once again.

As you can see, the Brass Ring Club will take on New Day for the titles. WrestleZone has reported that New Day will be represented in the match by Kofi Kingston and Big E while Xavier Woods accompanies them to the ring.

Finally, there has been a major change to one title match at Extreme Rules , and it is entirely different than originally planned.

After Naomi attacked Paige on Raw following the Divas Battle Royal last week, WWE has officially said that Paige is out of action. Naomi is replacing her in the Divas Championship Match against Nikki Bella to challenge for the Divas Title.

One more thing that is being looked at is the status of Daniel Bryan and if he will be able to wrestle at the event. He was sent home from the European tour last week with what many called a concussion, but WWE denied those reports.

WWE is now reporting that Bryan is undergoing “diagnostic tests” to determine if he can compete against Bad News Barrett at Extreme Rules on Sunday.

“Daniel Bryan rose above six other Superstars to capture his first Intercontinental Championship in a Ladder Match at WrestleMania. However, if the ever-popular ‘Yes!’ Man hopes to hold onto the title, he’ll have to get past the Superstar who lost the championship that day, Bad News Barrett, at Extreme Rules. Bryan is undergoing diagnostic testing to see if he can defend his title at Extreme Rules.”

As of Tuesday afternoon, there are six confirmed and announced matches for WWE Extreme Rules .

  • WWE World Heavyweight Championship – Steel Cage Match with RKO Banned : Seth Rollins (c) vs. Randy Orton
  • United States Championship – Russian Chain Match : John Cena (c) vs. Rusev
  • Intercontinental Championship : Daniel Bryan (c) vs. Bad News Barrett
  • WWE Divas Championship : Nikki Bella (c) vs. Naomi
  • Chicago Street Fight : Dean Ambrose vs. Luke Harper
  • Kiss Me Arse Match : Sheamus vs. Dolph Ziggler
  • Last Man Standing Match : Roman Reigns vs. Big Show
  • Kickoff – WWE Tag Team Championship : Brass Ring Club (c) vs. The New Day

The card for Extreme Rules looks to be final and totally in place now, but the question mark is that of Daniel Bryan. There’s no telling what will happen if he can’t wrestle or if WWE is just trying to build up drama, but we will see.
