Jessica Simpson can’t wait to see her waistline again.
The 31-year-old singer and successful clothing designer is currently in her third trimester and is expected to deliver – a baby girl, according to various reports – before too long.
Although Jessica was prepared for some of the curve balls that pregnancy throws, she admits she was shocked by how her body altered throughout the process and misses her pre-baby belly.
“I wasn’t pregnant when we shot [my new show Fashion Star]. It will be amazing to see myself with a waistline,” Jessica told Us Weekly magazine. “I’ll be like a big blob sitting on the couch watching myself thin.”
Despite the obvious unwanted weight gain that goes along with being pregnant, new motherhood has inspired Jessica to consider creating a line of maternity wear to the Jessica Simpson Collection.
Simpson explained to US Weekly that although she herself is opting for regular plus-sized clothing, she wants to help other pregnant women be their fashionable best.
“I really want to make a maternity line that’s comfortable, but really stylish for people, because I believe that we all deserve to look good and feel good.”
Jessica has not announced a due date but is expected to give birth in the spring. The singer confirmed on October 31, 2011 that she and fiance Eric Johnson, 31, are expecting their first child by posting a photo in which she was dressed as a mummy and holding her tummy . The two began dating in May 2010 and announced the following November, after he finalized his divorce from his first wife, that they are engaged.
No wedding date has been announced.
