It’s Fat Tuesday in New Orleans and in celebration of the popular Mardi Gras holiday the Gulfstream Park and Racing Casino in Florida is taking the “fat” part of the celebration to a whole new level, offering fat people more free money then their skinnier counterparts.
The casino for today only will weigh its customers and for every one pound customers receive 10 cents in free slot play. That means a 100 pound person would receive $10 in free slot play while a morbidly obese player of 500 pounds would receive $50.
To help casino visitors receive as much money as possible the casino is even providing Krispy Kreme donuts before a customer takes part in the weigh-in.
The move comes at a time when Gulfstream Park and Racing Casino is competing with their biggest rival in the area the Mardi Gras Casino.
As the casino’s marketing director points out:
“They should really own Fat Tuesday because of their name, so we decided to create a parody.”
The casino’s marketing director also brushes off claims that the casino is encouraging visitors to gain weight for just a few dollars in free gambling money.
“If you gain 10 pounds, you get a buck” says the director.
Surely nobody would be willing to gain 10 dollars just to earn a dollar in free gambling but it makes me wish I had lead lined pants I could wear to the free slot play Fat Tuesday celebration.
Do you think the casino has went to far in capitalizing on the lifestyle choices of fat people?
