‘Chicago P.D.’ Season 2 Episode 17 Preview: Jay’s Brother Visits And Ruzek Encounters The FBI

Chicago P.D. returns with new episodes this week, and first up is Season 2 Episode 17, “Say Her Real Name.” Jay’s brother is coming to town, and Ruzek is going to have to deal with an encounter with a federal agency. It’s been nearly a month without a new episode, so it’s good to have it back.

In this next Chicago P.D. episode, there’s a World Trade conference in Chicago, and the members of Intelligence are undercover in different protest groups trying to identify possible threats. Ruzek infiltrates the Black Grid group and befriends Sierra (guest star Lucy Blehar), and when she ends up dead, Intelligence is suspicious of an Argentine Secretary, Fabian Sosa (guest star Gary Perez). Voight and Olinsky question Sosa about the activist’s death, and the team turns to Mouse (guest star Caleb Hunt), Halstead’s old Army buddy who suffers from PTSD, for help tracking Sosa.

The “Say Her Real Name” sneak peek from TVGuide.com focuses on the case in the episode, and it’s after the activist’s death. However, when Ruzek tries to conduct an investigation into what happened, it’s not as easy as he probably hoped it would be. Instead, he can’t even get the name of the person staying in room 2023 (the entire floor was rented for one person’s staff), and the FBI comes in and tries to take over – and force him out of the room, leaving him with no choice but to comply.

While Lindsay and Halstead gave moving forward with their relationship a go, it doesn’t seem like it’s going to work out, not with Voight suspecting they’re more than just partners and making it pretty obvious he knows. Instead, at the end of the last Chicago P.D. , Lindsay was at Molly’s, commiserating with Dawson over dating coworkers.

A sneak peek posted by TVLine offers a look at Jay’s brother, Dr. Will Halstead (guest star Nick Gehlfuss), who shows up in town for an undetermined amount of time and starts stirring up some trouble.

Will says he needed a “breather,” but Jay knows there’s something else going on, even as his brother wonders why he can’t “take a vacation” and hang with his brother – and gets on his case about his love life.

While Jay does try to deflect his brother’s question with a joke, Will does get to meet Lindsay, and that’s when it’s revealed that he doesn’t know how long he’s going to be in Chicago. After he leaves when his phone buzzes, Jay and Lindsay’s exchange makes it clear that they aren’t completely over, at least not yet.

A third sneak peek released by NBC for this next Chicago P.D. shows Voight making it clear “this is Chicago, [their] soil,” and one way or another, they’ll get what they want.

Chicago P.D. Season 2 airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on NBC.
