WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar has made waves in WWE ever since his arrival. Win or loss, he has been a very interesting case and a great heel for WWE to use whenever they felt like it. This was fun to see, as it allowed fans to see Lesnar without Lesnar having to work multiple days that made him quit wrestling over a decade ago.
Now Brock’s WWE contract is about to end. He is set to be part of WrestleMania 31 in the main event with Roman Reigns in which he will defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship he has held since SummerSlam . He is also supposed to appear at WWE RAW the next night which should be the last show he is contracted for under his current deal.
There were rumors last week that WWE would try to sign Lesnar at the WWE RAW taping this week, but it was uncertain if he would sign anything.
According to Cageside Seats , WWE did in fact attempt to sign Lesnar last night at the taping in Los Angeles, CA. The only problem is that Lesnar did not sign to a new deal, but that does not mean he will not sign. Some speculate Lesnar could hold out until the RAW after WrestleMania .
There is also some indication that Lesnar did sign this week but WWE is keeping it a secret. There have been other reports claiming that Lesnar has already signed as early as last week. However, nothing can be confirmed right now as if Lesnar did really sign then very few would know.
This could be kept secret to help in a surprise for WrestleMania , which Vince McMahon is seemingly attempting to do for the WWE fans similar to last year. The only problem is that we have no idea what he is planning as of now. However, most believe it has something to do with the main event. There are reports claiming that there will be a double turn with Lesnar and Reigns at WrestleMania .
If we can believe that, we could see Paul Heyman align with Roman Reigns which would shock a lot of people. If there is simply a turn with no Heyman involvement, we can probably believe that Lesnar is staying and the beatdown at WrestleMania will continue in the coming weeks for Reigns from Lesnar. It is thought that if Lesnar turns in any way or walks out the WWE World Champion…he’s most likely staying.
WWE would never even consider Lesnar retaining unless they were positive he was staying. So if Lesnar does surprisingly retain, we know Lesnar isn’t going anywhere. Even if he loses, that does not technically mean Brock is done. So we will have to see what WWE plans. We have less than a week to find out.
