The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 won’t be released until September, but alleged details about the device keep pouring in. According to Know Your Mobile , the Galaxy Note 5 will likely feature a curved Edge display. This is based on an a Q&A session with Samsung’s Vice President of Product Strategy, who admitted this was a possibility.
According to Venture Capital Post , the specs for the Galaxy Note 5 look out of this world.
“The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will have a 4K AMOLED display which measures 5.9 inches. The phone will handle a 2160 x 3840 pixels at 733 ppi screen resolution. It will either be powered by a 7420 chipset Exynos at 3.2 GHz or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. The Note 5 will be supporting either a 4GB or 8GB RAM and an internal memory of either 64 GB or 32 GB. This internal memory may be expanded up to 128 GB. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 would also up their camera. The phablet is said to feature a 21 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera.”
Venture Capital Post , like other sources, reveals that Samsung will release the first official consumer version of the Samsung Gear VR along with the Note 5. Even though the current developer’s version of the Gear VR is receiving great reviews, many complain about the small 96 degree field-of-view. This will likely be fixed on the consumer version of the Gear VR, which will work with the Galaxy Note 5. Another complaint is the “screen-door” effect that is due to the limited (when put against your face) Quad HD resolution on the Galaxy Note 4. Since the Galaxy Note 5 will have a 4K screen, the effect should be gone.
Some are saying that the Galaxy Note 5 will be a significant improvement from the Galaxy Note 4. It’s hard to imagine how the Galaxy Note 4 can be improved since it has received excellent reviews. Engadget , who gave the Galaxy Note 4 an almost perfect rating, summarized its appeal.
“The Galaxy Note 4 is the best large phone on the market. It’s a device you’ll be proud to whip out in public, thanks to its elegant design, robust build, beautiful screen, impressive battery life and solid camera. It also excels from a productivity standpoint, offering seamless multitasking and stylus functionality that’s as smooth as I’ve ever seen on a smartphone.”
The Galaxy Note 4, however, has failed to come even close to matching the sales of the iPhone 6 Plus, Apple’s first move into the phablet world. However, Samsung invented the phablet and will likely take things a lot further when they release the Galaxy Note 5 in September.
