‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Spoilers: How Will The Others React To Skye’s Powers And Bobbi and Mack’s Secret?

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 2 is back, and multiple characters are keeping secrets. When will others find out what the others are hiding? How will they react?

As the Inquisitr previously reported, there are going to be consequences for Skye when it comes to her relationships with the others, and the latest Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode saw just that, as Skye was quarantined and, after Tripp’s death, certain team members are against anyone with powers at the moment. Simmons just hoped that Skye hadn’t been changed as Raina had, as she wanted Raina to be killed after witnessing her transformation and what she did to scientists at the Temple.

Skye’s powers began to come out in the episode, especially when she got stressed, and while she worried about the others finding out – and how they’d react, given everyone’s emotional states following Tripp’s death – Fitz is helping her keep the fact that she caused the earthquake. How long can she keep her powers a secret, given what happens when she gets stressed? It’s only a matter of time before someone else picks up on what’s happening, right?

According to E! News , Iain De Caestecker called Fitz’s decision to help Skye with her secret “an impulse decision” and one that’s not going to be easy.

“I suppose he doesn’t know what’s going to happen. They don’t really understand what is happening. They’re not sure exactly what’s going on with Skye, so discovering exactly what that is, and just the idea of keeping a secret is a hard thing to do within a secret organization like S.H.I.E.L.D.”

As stated above, Simmons has had quite the strong reaction to powers – and people with powers – after Raina’s transformation and what she has done, and Elizabeth Henstridge has explained that she doesn’t want to see what happened happen again.

“Simmons is shutting down and she’s taking orders from Coulson [Clark Gregg] and just doing it. As she sees it, the stakes are enormous and she can’t let this happen again. …She’s taking a very scientific route. It’s her way of grieving. She’s traumatized. She’s turning to science to try and get some absolutes.”

The actress went on to tease that not everyone is going to have the same reaction when it comes to Inhumans.

“We’re going to see a spectrum of how people approach it. This is a new thing that no one on our team has ever heard of, so there’s going to be a lot of scrambling for a bit. No one knows what to do. Because of that, Agent Coulson does have to take everybody’s opinions and every option into account. There’s going to be some interesting discussions.”

Watch the promo for the next Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode, 212, “Who You Really Are,” to get a glimpse of what happens next when it comes to Skye and her powers – and what some of the others think needs to be done. Plus, Lady Sif is back!

What will the others’ reactions mean for Skye? Could they lead her back to her father? According to Bennet, these powers do change things.

“Let’s just say that he was definitely right about how once you change, things aren’t going to be the same and people aren’t going to treat you the same way. There’s definitely a level of discrimination against Inhumans. I wouldn’t say that she turns to him but I wouldn’t definitely say that their relationship changes a little bit.”

Skye’s not the only one keeping something hidden from the others, as the latest Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode also revealed a bit about what Bobbi Morse and Mack are doing. While Bobbi told Hunter that they’ve been attending a support group, a quick exchange teased that they’re looking for Nick Fury’s toolbox, which is in Coulson’s office, and they are in contact with someone else.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that executive producer Jed Whedon hasn’t exactly shot down the theory that Bobbi and Mack’s secret has something to do with Hydra.

“It’s not wrong to assume it. We’ve all been burned by Hydra before. We’re a little shell-shocked.”

Whatever they are up to, Henry Simmons teased, “This secret that they have is gonna have quite an impact on the team.”

According to E! News , Adrianne Palicki thinks that fans “should [not] assume anything,” but be prepared for this secret to come out and change things.

“I think that Mac and Bobbi, they do have a secret, but whatever they’re doing they think is the right thing. So it’s not necessarily malicious, but you have to keep an open mind. When the secret does finally come out it’s going to have massive repercussions on the entire team, but especially for [Hunter (Nick Blood) and Bobbi’s] relationship.”

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 2 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
