After slightly over six years together, seven children, separation rumors, and enough media scrutiny in print to fill the Library of Congress, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie might just be finally ready to tie the knot, according to Pitt.
Though Brangelina have spent much of their time together denying rumors of marriage, putting the date off nebulously into the somewhere-time when homosexual couples are allowed marital union, Pitt opened up in an interview with Hollywood Reporter , admitting, among other things, that marriage between the two may finally be a possibility.
“We’d actually like to” get married, says Pitt, “and it seems to mean more and more to our kids. We made this declaration some time ago that we weren’t going to do it ’til everyone can. But I don’t think we’ll be able to hold out. It means so much to my kids, and they ask a lot. And it means something to me, too, to make that kind of commitment.”
In 2008, the couple announced the birth of #6 and #7, twins, in the Brangelina caravan. Though they haven’t had any children since twins Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline, Pitt admits the two might not be done having children just yet – though they may go back to the adoption route.
“We haven’t closed the book on it,” he says. “There’s a really nice balance in the house right now, but if we see the need and get that lightning bolt that says, ‘We can help this person; we could do something here,’ then absolutely.”
Once again, Pitt distanced himself from his life int he 90’s.
“I got really sick of myself,” he says. “I was hiding out from the celebrity thing; I was smoking way too much dope; I was sitting on the couch and just turning into a doughnut; and I really got irritated with myself.”
