As Ben Carson ‘Ponders’ 2016 Election Bid, Conservatives Recall Obama-Skewering Video

As talk of the 2016 presidential election ramps up, many wonder if Dr. Ben Carson will join the bid to be the next Commander-in-Chief. Recently, a video surfaced from the 2013 National Prayer Breakfast in which Dr. Carson skillfully criticized President Barack Obama’s policies. It’s this archival footage that many conservatives claim will be the calling card for Republicans to take back the White House.

A Ben Carson 2016 announcement is still unofficial, but many say the retired and esteemed pediatric brain surgeon may just be what the doctor ordered for America. Carson is no stranger to politics and speaking openly about matters pertaining to the homeland.

Some say that while he lacks the charisma of Obama, Carson’s ability to use three-dimensional reasoning along with his detachment from Washington insiders make him a threat to Democrats and a viable option for the GOP ticket. From the video above, viewers were reminded of his silent but tenacious ability to revive the conservative consciousness.

“PC [political correctness] is dangerous, because you see, this country, one of the founding principles was freedom of thought and freedom of expression. And it [PC] muffles people. It puts a muzzle on them. In 1831, Alexis de Tocqueville came to our country… anybody finishing the second grade was completely literate.”

Carson continued his masked critic, this time on the president’s Affordable Healthcare Act aka Obamacare. Like fellow Republicans, Ben Carson believes President Obama’s healthcare reform efforts are causing unintended circumstances that do more harm than good.

“Here’s my solution. When a person is born, give him a birth certificate, an electronic medical record, and a health savings account, to which money can be contributed, pretax from the time you are born, to the time you die. When you die, you can pass it on to your family members.”

As a devout follower of his “mentor,” Jesus Christ, Dr. Carson brought up the biblical principle of tithing. He assailed the White House for advocating increases in taxes for the rich and its use of language that appears to punish individuals who earn above a certain income, especially those in the so-called “one percent.” His solution to the current taxation system is to introduce a Proportional Tax, one that reflects a sliding-scale, like in the medical field.

Do you think Ben Carson’s 2016 chances are strong or weak? With Mitt Romney not running for president, how would Jeb Bush, the presumptive Republican nominee, perform against Carson?
