Bobbi Kristina Brown Update: Whitney Houston’s Daughter Is In Medically Induced Coma

Published on: January 31, 2015 at 7:55 PM

Bobbi Kristina Brown was found unresponsive in the bathtub of her home in what sounds like an eerily similar situation to how her mother, Whitney Houston, was found nearly three years ago. New reports suggest that the 21-year-old was found face down in the bathtub, and while she was reportedly able to be revived by paramedics, she has been placed in a medically induced coma . TMZ reports that doctors needed to induce the coma because Brown has “swelling in her brain.”

TMZ has also confirmed that police have searched the home for drugs , and the search came up empty. At this point it is unknown what might have happened to Brown. She was found by her fiance, Nick Gordon, and a friend at her home in Roswell, GA. Authorities say that Brown was found in a bathtub full of water — enough water for someone to take a bath in.

Bobbi Kristina Brown is reportedly breathing on her own, but her current condition is unclear. Some reports indicate that she is stable, but it sounds like she is in critical condition as she remains in the ICU tonight. Although all of the details have not been confirmed, there is already some finger pointing going on. According to People Magazine , sources close to the situation say that Nick Gordon will more than likely be pegged as the reason for Brown’s setback.

“He’ll be the bad guy again. Nick knew that a lot of the family weren’t fans of his; he sort of kept her away from some of her family members because he didn’t want [the family] to say bad things about him to [Bobbi Kristina]. It’s not exactly his fault,” said a source.

Bobbi Kristina Brown has not been the same since losing her mother. As previously reported by the Inquisitr , Whitney Houston was found unconscious in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel after taking a potent drug cocktail that ultimately cost her her life. Her official cause of death was drowning.

TMZ has reported that Brown is “alive and breathing,” but many are worried that the medically induced coma means that her condition is far more serious. It is unknown how long she was unconscious for, or if her brain function was compromised.
