The Ford Mustang has long been a symbol of American freedom and values. That tiny little pony symbolizing a wildness and inability to be tamed is the perfect symbol for a sports car. And now that famous Ford sports car is exerting its excellence even more with its latest model.
The 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R did what many thought it couldn’t do. The latest Mustang was just debuted in Detroit before heading to Germany and the famous Nurburgring racing track.
The Mustang, which has been around for 50 years, made some records with its track time. According to Motor Authority , the Mustang completed “lapped the Nürburgring in a time of 7:32.19 .” So what’s so special about that?
With that time, it means that the latest Ford Mustang “is substantially quicker… than its main target, the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.” And it could keep up with more than just the Camaro.

The Real Auto Blog commends the 500 horsepower edition that was able to “ slice 130 pounds .” And while it seems to be made for the track and for some good old racing, “owners will be able to register and drive this monster on public roads.”
So do you want to take this monster out for yourself? You could pay $1 million for one of the limited edition Mustang GT350R’s. The very first one was put up for auction a week and a half ago to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
According to Torque News , Ford Group Vice President Raj Nair announced at the auction, “The Shelby GT350R is a world-class car, the best performing Mustang that we have ever built . We are thrilled to donate the first retail production Shelby GT350R to JDRF for auction.”
Don’t have a cool million to spend on the latest Mustang? That’s okay, because according to Edmunds, the Ford Mustang GT350R will available later this year for $70,000-$80,000.
