A FedEx driver was caught stealing puppies off of a porch in Texas on Wednesday afternoon. According to the New York Daily News , a home security system showed the man taking the two French bulldogs from a home where he was not even delivering packages. The man just walked up to the home, grabbed the dogs one at a time, placed them in his truck, and drove away. Thankfully, the dogs were not harmed, and have been returned to their owner. However, reports indicate that the dogs were found “wandering the streets,” and were not brought back by the FedEx employee who took them. He has since been suspended.
“We are relieved that the pets are now safe with their owners. We are taking this incident very seriously and continue to work closely with authorities investigating this matter,” said FedEx in a statement.
It is unknown if more action will be taken.
The FedEx driver who stole the puppies managed to do so without incident. In fact, no one even noticed that he took the dogs and put them into his truck. According to ABC News , the family didn’t even know something had happened to their pups until they couldn’t fine them. They immediately checked the footage on their home security system, and they were quite surprised by what they saw.
“Once we seen them on the video we were like, I can’t believe it. We are supposed to trust these people, and now they are stealing their dogs,” said Erica Correa.
And this wasn’t the first time that a parcel delivery employee was caught doing something bad on surveillance footage. As previously reported by the Inquisitr , a UPS worker was caught kicking an expensive package back in October. That incident occurred in New York, and the driver was suspended after he was seen kicking a box that contained a fragile $12,000 pressure gauge. At the time, UPS released the following statement.
“Thank you for bringing this incident to our attention. UPS drivers are trained to handle every package with care. This is a part of the overall emphasis we place on providing excellent service to our customers. UPS does not condone this specific driver’s behavior. We are investigating this issue and will take corrective action with this driver. We have also apologized to the customer.”
Many feel as thought the FedEx driver who stole the puppies should have lost his job. Do you?
