Kailyn Lowry took to Instagram this morning, where the Teen Mom 2 star opened up about her marital struggles with husband Javi Marroquin.
“Nobody told me marriage was easy but I never could have imagined the limits it would push me to,” Lowry told fans on Instagram on January 6. “We aren’t perfect and we’ve never claimed to be. I’ve fought harder with you and for you than I ever have for anyone. Now, all I can hope is that we can keep pushing forward and learn from what we have gone through and what we are going through.”
“If I posted this saying everything was perfect, I would be lying because it’s not. But, at the end of the day, I want you by my side when we’re 80, still pinching my butt and making me laugh,” Lowry added. “I love you, Jose.”
In July, as their troubles played out on Teen Mom 2 , Kailyn Lowry spoke to Life & Style , revealing divorce was not something she and Marroquin had considered.
“Divorce is not an option for us,” Lowry told the magazine . “When you have a newborn, things change in your marriage.”
After tying the knot, Lowry and Marroquin welcomed son Lincoln Marshall.
“I made my vows to him that I would fight for my marriage. I want fans to learn: Work things out with your significant other and don’t fight with them about things you can’t control. Choose your battles.”
Exactly two weeks later, Kailyn Lowry’s Teen Mom 2 co-star, Leah Messer, whose also struggled with marital troubles on the show, released the same statement regarding a possible divorce for herself and Jeremy Calvert.
“Divorce is not an option for us,” Messer told In Touch Weekly . “I truly believe that Jeremy is the best thing that’s ever happened to me and my girls, and I really think we can overcome anything.”
Following filming on season five, which aired over the summer, Messer and Calvert began going to couple’s counseling.
“It’s helped us to see each other’s feelings from a different point of view. We’re doing our best to fix our relationship. We’ve had problems, but Jeremy and I promise each other every day that we’re never going to give up. In the end, I feel like that’s what marriage is all about.”
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Kailyn Lowry, Leah Messer, Chelsea Houska and Jenelle Evans will reportedly return to MTV for Teen Mom 2 season six later this year.
