Fans of the recently-ended AMC series Breaking Bad may have the opportunity to see one star of the series, Aaron Paul, on the big screen, when the planned Star Wars spin-off hits theaters. Aaron Paul, most commonly recognized for his role as Jesse Pinkman in the AMC series Breaking Bad, has reportedly shown interest in participating in the Star Wars spin-off. Even amidst the media and fan frenzy surrounding Star Wars: The Force Awakens rumors, new details and even more rumors surround a proposed Star Wars spin-off, which will revolve around Han Solo in some fashion, according to a report posted by the International Business Times . While nothing has been confirmed and most of the news surrounding the planned spinoff can only be confirmed through rumors and innuendo at this point, the Making Star Wars website quotes a reliable source associated with the Star Wars: The Force Awakens set.
“Aaron Paul is looking to be attached to the first Star Wars spin-off film in some fashion. There was no direct implication he was playing Han Solo,” the source told Making Star Wars .
The spin-offs, the first of which will most likely overlap with parts of Star Wars Episode VIII , had been announced this past February by LucasFilm in a statement that revealed the three spinoffs, to hit theaters respectively in 2016, 2018 and 2020, will be directed by Gareth Edwards. Edwards achieved recognition recently for directing Godzilla (2014).
A role in the Star Wars spin-off for Aaron Paul would be a great opportunity, possibly launching a successful film career on the heels of his Breaking Bad notoriety, suggests the Daily Mail . While the former Breaking Bad star does resemble Han Solo, the surly smuggler from the original Star Wars trilogy, there has been no word that Aaron is even being considered for the role. Even so, the Breaking Bad star does have the talent and credit to assume such a coveted role. Mr. Paul has has already achieved fame with his Breaking Bad role, winning a number of awards in the process, such as the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in years 2010, 2012, and 2014. Performing steadily since 1998, Aaron Paul has already established himself both in television and on film, but a role in a franchise as popular as Star Wars would launch him even further into the public eye.
