WrestleMania 31 is right around the corner, and the WWE is working diligently to put on the best-possible matches for the WWE Universe. Last year, Brock Lesnar conquered the undefeated streak of the Undertaker. Daniel Bryan finally completed his dream of capturing the WWE World Heavyweight championship when he defeated Triple H, Batista and Randy Orton in the same night.
Over the last few weeks, matches started to take shape in time for WrestleMania 31. The big question every WWE fans wants answered is Sting’s involvement at the “Granddaddy of Them All.” There are a few options for the Icon’s debut-match in WWE.
He could have the dream matchup against the Undertaker. Sting might face Triple H to capitalize on his involvement at Survivor Series a few months ago. New developments are starting to take shape about another opponent for Sting at WrestleMania 31. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter , Seth Rollins is being talked about for a match against Sting.
“The idea of a Sting vs. Seth Rollins match has reportedly been brought up recently, a match that seems like a long shot, but has been talked about. It’s also worth noting that there has been some rumors going around that claim Rollins could be in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship picture soon. Obviously if that were to happen, the Rollins vs. Sting match would not.”
What would the WWE Universe think about Rollins wrestling Sting? First off, it would prove that WWE officials believe Rollins is the future of WWE and not Roman Reigns. Reigns might have a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight championship, but putting Rollins with Sting is a gamble.
Sting will return to WWE TV as a babyface for the ages. Nobody will boo, especially when he goes up against the Authority as John Cena put them back in power last night on Raw. Now that Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are back, Sting will most-likely come back to answer their challenge.
The only way that Sting wrestles Seth Rollins is if HHH doesn’t want to wrestle at WrestleMania 31. Since HHH is in charge of the Authority, it would only make sense that he fights Sting. However, watching Raw last night, Rollins can handle the task. His heel work at the conclusion of Raw was masterful.
His in-ring work and look is reminiscent of Shawn Michaels, but he owns the personality and heel-mind of Edge and Randy Orton. Taking a look at the video above, some of Rollins’ lines were brilliant. Granted, Edge was selling it to perfection, but Rollins needed to prove he could be the monster heel, and he did just that last night.
If Sting were to face Rollins at WrestleMania 31, would you be interested? Any wrestler that takes on Sting will make sense. It will either be the Undertaker, Triple H or Seth Rollins. Who would you choose if you were head writer of the WWE?
