As with any marriage, Angelina Jolie clearly has her challenges when it comes to life with Brad Pitt, let alone the trials and tribulations of raising kids.
As reported last month, a heated balcony argument between Jolie and Pitt was pictured by the ever-keen and increasingly cheeky paparazzi. After the heated discussion, Angelina was seen to be smoking a cigarette – and that after her much publicized double mastectomy.
Angelina spoke to the Weekly about how married life is for her, admitting that it’s “hard work,”
“Maintaining a marriage and raising kids is hard work. You have to really make sure that your work doesn’t get in the way. That you don’t do something that is going to put too much strain on your family.”
While there’s no real surprise here as most married people know just how challenging marriage can be, Angelina Jolie boldly admitted recently to Today that she aspired to be a better wife to Brad Pitt as she said in the interview ,
“We have more moments where I say, ‘I’m going to be a better wife. I’m going to learn to cook.’ and [Brad] says, ‘Oh, honey, know what you’re good at.’… But I do like, ‘No, no, no, I’m going to get this wife thing down.’ He knows my limitations and where I’m a good wife and a good mom.”
Jolie also shared in the interview that life certainly changed since the couple said “I do” as was to be expected, especially under their particular circumstances,
“It did change. We were fortunate enough to be in that unusual situation, we got married with our [six] children and they were part of the ceremony. It was all of us agreeing to be together and to just commit to this life together. Not because we had to… because we were absolutely sure we felt that much of a family.”
While Hollywood celebrities are notorious for “throwing in the towel” at the first sign of marriage issues, it’s encouraging to see at least one couple making the effort to improve things for themselves and their families, while striving to become better wives, husbands and parents.
