‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Teaser Trailer Debuts In These Select Theaters Friday [Report]

Only a few select (lucky) theater around the nation will see the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer first, when it debuts this coming Friday, according to reports on several entertainment news sites.

There have been rumors that the massively anticipated trailer would debut next month attached to The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies , however, when IMAX tweeted that information, the tweet was quickly taken down and deleted. The good news is that the first trailer of the new trilogy arrives this week.

On Monday morning, Regal Entertainment finally put all the rumors about when the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer would finally debut to rest with the announcement that nine theaters have been chosen to premiere the awaited clip. The list is as follows, according to Coming Soon .

Irvine, CA Edwards Irvine Spectrum 22 & IMAX San Diego, CA Edwards Mira Mesa Stadium 18 IMAX & RPX Atlanta, GA Regal Atlantic Station Stadium 18 IMAX & RPX Chicago, IL Regal City North Stadium 14 IMAX & RPX New York, NY Regal Union Square Stadium 14 Warrington, PA Regal Warrington Crossing Stadium 22 & IMAX Knoxville, TN Regal Pinnacle Stadium 18 IMAX & RPX Houston, TX Edwards Houston Marq’E Stadium 23 IMAX & RPX Seattle, WA Regal Thornton Place Stadium 14 & IMAX

No reasoning about the choices was given, and the Regal site actually doesn’t have the information anymore, so we will keep an eye out for any additional updates or changes regarding this report. No news about when the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer will be rolled out nationwide or which movie it will be attached to.

There is also no information about releasing the awaited teaser online, as it has become customary in recent years. It appears that Disney and director J.J. Abrams are going back to the way things used to be done during the time the original trilogy was first released in 1977.

Back in those days, not many people got to watch the official trailers, unless they were frequent moviegoers. Now with social media and the internet, millions are updated the minute a new trailer is released.

Even though this is a teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens , which will only be seen by a relatively small number of fans on the weekend of November 28, we can expect leaked clips to show up shortly after its release. Don’t underestimate the lengths to which the fandom will go to see this trailer.

Is your theater one of the ones selected to show the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer this weekend?
