Joy Behar is at it again. Behar has decided to call out conservative talking head Bill O’Reilly . This, of course, isn’t the first time she’s called out the Fox News host but what she has to say this time around is pretty interesting.
Behar went on Howard Stern’s radio show on Monday morning. During the interview, the conversation turned to the famous 2010 walk off, where she and Whoopi Goldberg angrily stormed off the set of The View after O’Reilly aired his comments about Muslims while talking about the mosque at Ground Zero.
According to O’Reilly, “Muslims killed us on 9/11.”
Stern didn’t understand why Behar walked off of the set of her own show. While approaching the subject, Stern said he was “shocked by that. If you have a show and invite someone on, they’re a guest. You don’t have to agree with them. You can fight with them and do all of those interesting things, but why walk off your own show if he’s a guest on the show? Just don’t have him on.”
Sharing the show with other panelists and a production team, Behar pointed to Stern that she had no control over who The View booked on the show. “Well, first of all I don’t book the show. He comes on regardless of what I think. I wouldn’t book him. I don’t find him amusing in any way. I don’t find him interesting in any way.”
She did hint that it was an unusual occurrence.
“I usually don’t walk off. There was something propelling my a** out of the seat. I can’t explain it.”
At the end of the day, she says she has no regrets over the decision to walk off that day when O’Reilly decided to air his views.
“Absolutely not, I got so much publicity out of it. He’s shameless, he doesn’t give a s***. You walk off, you smack him, you tell him he’s an a**h***, he doesn’t care.”
So what did her former boss Barbara Walters think about it? According to Behar, she didn’t take the segment very well.
“Barbara was mad. She was pissed. When she saw the numbers go up and that we got a lot of publicity over it, she was okay.”
Right after Behar and Goldberg walked off the stage, Walters addressed the audience. “I want to say something. You have just seen what should not happen. We should be able to have discussion without washing our hands, and screaming, and walking off stage. I love my colleagues but that should not have happened.”
Behar and Walters have since left The View .
