If daytime talkshow host Maury Povich has his way he’ll be the TV personality who gets to reveal Justin Bieber’s paternity test results to the rest of the world.
Producers for the highly successful Maury show say they have offered Bieber a public stage for his paternity test results. Bieber is slated to take the text next week with results to follow a short time after.
If you have managed to avoid the Bieber case by being trapped in a cave for the last month, 20-year-old Mariah Yeater claims that Justin Bieber is the father of her 4-month-old son Tristyn following a backstage tryst in Los Angeles back in October 2010. Mariah has went so far as to file a lawsuit against the pop singer where she hopes to collect nearly $250,000 in child support.
If Yeater’s backstage exploits prove to be true the results could be a huge selling point for the Maury show and even if not true landing Justin Bieber on the show to talk about the entire situation could be an equally big opportunity.
Former Maury executive producer Amy Rosenblum thinks Bieber appearing on the show could be exactly what’s needed to quell rumors and push his popularity even further:
“This would be a huge TV event. When I brought the DNA test to TV for the first time on ‘Maury,’ I had no idea it would still be as popular today as it was then. Maury is trusted by millions of viewers and if Maury told Justin ‘You are not the father,’ everyone would believe it.”
Then again with thousands of news outlets around the world following the Justin Bieber story and a rabid fan base who always stick up for their teen heartthrob Bieber hardly needs the help of Maury to spread the word about his tests results.
